ARC Reader Applications

Be among the first to enter Ravens Hollow. Then, review it honestly.

Welcome Future ARC Reader

New to ARCs? Please review the following FAQs before applying.

About the Program...

ARC stands for Advance Reader Copy. ARC readers receive free early copies of new books before they’re available to the public—typically 4-6 weeks ahead of release. In return, we hope (but don’t require) that you’ll share an honest review on platforms like Amazon, Goodreads, or BookBub around launch day.

Early reviews help other readers discover new books, so your support means everything—but there’s never any obligation.

Yes. No catch, no credit card, no obligation to buy anything. Ever.

Not automatically. Space is limited and I review applications in the order received. If you’re not selected, it’s nothing personal. And being new does not disqualify you.

Please don’t. Each copy is watermarked with your information, and sharing violates the trust of the ARC program. If someone you know wants to read it, send them to this signup page.

Yes, please! Sharing your experience with the book is welcome and encouraged — just not the ARC file itself. Tag me on Instagram or TikTok at @akfolsomauthor. I love seeing reader posts.

Is This Book for You...

What Darkness Reveals is adult urban fantasy with vampire mythology, slow-burn romantic tension, and some violence. If you enjoy Anne Rice, Deborah Harkness, Silvia Moreno-Garcia, or Elizabeth Kostova, you’re in the right place.

CONTENT WARNING

It’s vampire fiction, folks. Expect What Darkness Reveals to contain blood, violence, death, and grief.  There’s romantic and sexual tension but nothing explicit, some strong language, and the story depicts a male-dominated society. The darker, stronger content serves the story, not shock value.

Getting Your Copy...

The ARC is available as either EPUB or PDF—your choice. EPUB works best on e-readers and phone apps; PDF is ideal for reading on a computer or tablet.

ARCs are delivered through BookFunnel, a trusted ebook delivery platform used by thousands of authors. When you sign up, you’ll receive a link to download your copy. BookFunnel will ask you to create a free account—this helps them deliver your file and provide tech support if needed.

ARCs will be delivered approximately 4 weeks before the release date. You’ll receive an email from BookFunnel with your download link.

BookFunnel will walk you through it step by step. If you run into trouble, their support team (not me!) can help with technical issues.

Reading and Reviewing...

Ideally, reviews should be posted within two weeks of receiving your copy, or during launch week—whichever comes first. That said, life happens. A late review is still appreciated.

Amazon and Goodreads are the priority—those two platforms make the biggest difference for visibility and discoverability. If you’d also like to share on BookBub, StoryGraph, or your own blog/social media, even better—but Amazon and Goodreads are where reviews matter most to a debut author like me.

Absolutely! While the ARC itself shouldn’t be shared, posting about the book — your reactions, reviews, quotes, photos — is encouraged and appreciated. You can find me on Instagram and TikTok at @akfolsomauthor. I love seeing reader posts.

Reviews around launch week help most—no guilt, no penalty. I’d rather you take your time than feel pressured. If you finish later, a review is still appreciated—they help long after launch day.

Honest reviews are the whole point. If the book isn’t for you, say so (kindly). A thoughtful three-star review is more valuable than empty praise.

It happens! If you catch something, please let me know through the Contact page on my website. I appreciate the extra eyes.

The Fine Print...

Please don’t. Each copy is watermarked with your information, and sharing violates the trust of the ARC program. If a friend wants to read it, send them to this signup page.

Once you’ve been on an ARC team, you’ll receive an email when future books are available. However, you’ll need to sign up again for each release—this keeps the team current and ensures I’m only sending copies to readers who are available and interested at that time.

N-e-v-e-r! You have my word on that.

BookFunnel is its own company. Please review their privacy policies.

For technical issues with downloading or loading your file, please contact BookFunnel directly—they’re the experts and I genuinely can’t help with those.

For other questions, you’re welcome to reach out through the Contact page on my website, though I may not be able to respond to questions about plot details or future books. (A writer’s gotta keep some secrets—and keep writing the next book!)
